THE PASSION FOR PIZZA
Lorenzo “Ren” Hawkins was born Nov. 22, 1917 in Stanrod, Utah. While he was attending college in 1940 he was among the first drafted in Pocatello, Idaho. The Army sent him to Letterman Hospital in San Francisco where he became a supply sergeant in the Medical Corps. He later also served in Calcutta, India. A long-time businessman in San Francisco after the war, he worked in the medical supply field and eventually started his own business in 1964 south of Market Street. A frequent business lunch patron around the city, he was a food enthusiast. Today, his grandson who inherited Lorenzo’s entrepreneurial spirit and love of dining, has turned his passion for pizza into a dream come true – Lorenzo’s Restaurant. Dan Hawkins has been a restaurant entrepreneur for two decades and Lorenzo’s is his latest culinary success.

Lorenzo’s has an open floor plan and can accommodate most large parties of up to 20 ppl on a walk in basis. We encourage reservations for large parties on weekends.
